Ride to Live - Prostate cancer research!

It was a rainy day but it didn't seem to dampen the spirits of hundreds of motorcyclist that came out to support a great cause. I heard there were over 400 bikes out for this event and over $60,000 earned!!!. It's been over 10 years since I've owned a bike and some day I hope to own another one. I used to go out to rides in Ontario and remember how good it felt to support a great cause. That's why I still try to get out to some events even without a bike. Thank you to everyone that sponsored me it is a great cause!!!

It will be 4 years this August that my father passed away from prostate cancer and just a couple months ago his best friend passed away due to prostate cancer. It was an emotional event for me, more than I expected and I hope that this summer when I go to Ontario I can place the flag I got today on his grave. I was there when he passed away helping take care of him his last few months. I was back out here on Vancouver Island before he was buried so it will be an emotional trip back I'm sure. My father had asked for the blood test but his Dr had kept putting it off. By the time he had the test done he had prostate cancer and it was too late. I get checked every year and I told my Dr last week that I want the blood test done this year. Since I turned 40 I've been getting a physical on a regular basis. I was glad when I met my wife's Dr as being a female she has skinny fingers. Still uncomfortable but way better that a 6 foot 4 Dr with basketball player hands. She has a good sense of humor which helps too!

The following are photos I took from the event and wish to share. There are tons of photos so if you have a slow computer it will take a while for them to load. I tried to get as many people as I could but with the rain and the moving bikes a lot of pictures didn't turn out but since I always take way too many photos I get lots that do turn out. I hope you enjoy them and if you see one you like help yourself to it. Best way to steal a picture is to click on it to make it bigger then right click on it and save to computer. Please leave a comment so I know I'm not wasting my time posting them because it takes quite a while to go through them and upload them. Thank you!! KC
